A three-level model has been proposed to describe the behavior of polycrystalline materials, considering the main mechanisms of plastic deformation: edge dislocations motion, crystallites rotation, interaction of dislocations with impurity atoms. The main attention in the work is paid to the depiction of dislocation sliding, dislocations interactions (including barriers formation) and interaction of dislocations with impurity atoms. Impurity atoms make an important contribution to the nature of dislocations motion. To describe the production of the impurity-atom "clouds", it is proposed to take into account two main mechanisms: "collection" of impurity atoms by moving dislocations from their neighborhoods and diffusion of impurity atoms to dislocations temporarily halted on obstacles (or moving at very low speeds).
