This study aims to investigate how strong ground motion affects a concrete gravity dam's dynamic response; the analyses make use of a collection of 21 strong ground motions. In this study, fifteen seismic potential parameters were examined using correlation analysis. The Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient was employed to quantify the strength of the association between seismic Potential characteristics and seismic response of concrete dam. The best seismic potential parameter among those taken into account for figuring out the seismic demand of the investigated concrete gravity dam is found using correlation theories. All of these findings led to the conclusion that Concrete gravity dams should use acceleration-based metrics since they are reliable seismic damage potential forecasters as seismic potential descriptors.
