Background: Educational institutions encourage students to improve their learning skill and knowledge with different ways of teaching methodologies. Aim and objective: This study was done to ensure that the classroom teaching methodologies are benefited for the undergraduate dental students and also to evaluate the effectiveness about the different aspects of dental education methodologies. Methods: Total 507 undergraduate students participated in this study. 7 faculty members was allotted to take the lecture on pre-selected 5 topics from first year to final year and interns, Feedback forms were collected according to Likert scale from those students and analysis is done by comparing all the teaching methodologies used and the results are obtained. Results: According to results 59.4% of total responded agreed to the fact the topics covered during normal lectures are interesting. 64.7% agreed about approachability and faculties helping nature to clarify the doubts, 59.4% agreed that faculties are having a good communication skill, 37.7% are neutral to the point that faculties are making the lecture interesting, 50.1% felt that power point lectures are more effective, 37.5%disagreed that the lessons can be learnt from the textbooks. Conclusion: The students show more interest towards different methodologies and it helps in improving their learning skills with positive feedback. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
