The study explored Psychological capital (PsyCap) as a correlate of workplace conflict and Organisational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) among staff of a previously disadvantaged university in South Africa, using the correlational research design and validated questionnaires to systematically sample opinions of 151 male and female administrative staff of the university. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to analyse the collected data based on the stated hypotheses. The results revealed that OCB had a significant negative relationship with work conflict (r = -0.365; p = <0.000); OCB had a significant positive correlation with PsyCap (r = 0.573; p = <0.000); and workplace conflict had a significant negative relationship with PsyCap (r = - 0.406; p = <0.000). In view of the results obtained, the study concluded that there is workplace conflict, OCB and PsyCap are interrelated; and recommended that management of the institution should organise human capital development workshops and training to help the administrative employee discover their PsyCap as a means of reducing workplace conflict and promoting OCB.
