Jingan Young, Soho on Screen: Cinematic Spaces of Bohemia and Cosmopolitanism, 1948-1963 Young does a sound job of setting the liminal space (a rather overused phrase) of post-war Soho in its geographical and historical context. Nostalgia is like a benign form of cancer: the young are generally mercifully free of it, but with increasing years it becomes more likely to affect our emotional worlds, just as cancer is more likely to make its appearance in our bodies.
