The objective of structural design is to choose member sizes that are proportional to the whole structural geometry in order to achieve the most cost-effective design. Steel girders, which were typically made of webs, flanges and a number of internal diaphragms, were used in many fields, including bridge engineering. The main goal of this research is to develop finite element model to study the flexural behavior of hollow flange steel plate girders with various cross sections. The non-linear finite element analysis program was used to study the flexural behavior of girders. Four models are analyzed which are hollow flanges steel plate girder without stiffeners, hollow flanges steel plate girder with stiffeners, upper hollow flange steel plate girder and lower hollow flange steel plate girder. The result obtained from finite element analysis showed that the failure load in hollow flanges steel plate girder with stiffeners increased about 92 % as compared lower hollow flange steel plate girder.
