Facile synthesis optimization and characterization of zinc tungstate nano particles for scintillator applications.

Abstrakt: In the present study, we report the synthesis of ZnWO4 nanoparticles by hydrothermal method. The crystallographic phase purity and homogeneity pattern of synthesized ZnWO4 nanoparticles are characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD). The crystallite size along with the lattice strain is calculated using W-H plot and compared with that from Debye-Scherer formula. UV/VIS/NIR absorption spectroscopy is carried out and optical constants are evaluated. The micro morphology and composition of ZnWO4 are studied with FE-SEM and Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDAX). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
