Abstrakt:	Focuses on the issue concerning the efficacy of the implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) therapy to treat patients with high risk of sustained malignant ventricular arrhythmia. Results of the three randomized trials conducted to compare the ICD to antiarrhythmic drug therapy in patients having ventricular tachycardia or ventricular fibrillation; Issues raised by the released of results from clinical trials; Type of analysis that could provide a more accurate assessment of the true benefit of the ICD therapy.
