Abstrakt: This article focuses on the book "The Hollywood Professionals: Howard Hawks, Frank Borzage, and Edgar G. Ulmer," by John Belton, and discusses various issues related to auteurism and professionalism in film industry. The book attempts to isolate the formal and thematic procedures which make the films of Hawks, Ulmar, and Borzage "great." This book makes no pretense at covering the entire career of the directors, but instead concentrates on certain limited themes which "identify" the work of these directors.
