Abstrakt: |
The article provides information about colorectal cancer. Colorectal cancer is second only to lung cancer as a cause of cancer-related death in the United States and accounts for 60,000 deaths per year. Benign adenomatous polyps are believed to be the precursors of most colorectal cancers. The detection and removal of such polyps have been shown to reduce the incidence and mortality of colorectal cancer. The article informs that colonoscopy is the optimal screening test in average risk patients. |
