The article analyzes the comparative characteristics of double-acting duplex and single-acting triplex pumps. To reduce the labor intensity of work and increase wear resistance, it is proposed to introduce structural changes in the cylinder-piston pair by partially changing the design with the replacement of a steel or cast-iron shell with a structure made of aluminum or its alloy with a hard and wear-resistant chromium coating applied to the inner surface.
