Modified Cellulose acetate membrane was prepared by addition of SDS with different content into dope solution. In here, modified membranes were applied for clarification of apple juice. Membrane characterization include pure water flux (PWF), compaction time, rejection of 40 kDa dextran, apple juice flux, pectin rejection and transmittance of apple juice. As the result show that increasing SDS content up to 2% increase PWF, the further SDS content decrease PWF. For the clarification of apple juice, membrane with SDS of 2% have the highest juice flux and lowest pectin rejection. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
