The microrelief of thermally treated 40Kh steel after stress corrosion cracking (SCC) tests under the oxygen depolarization conditions has been analyzed. The microstructure formed after low and medium tempering contributes to the uniform formation of a microrelief during testing. Under the oxygen depolarization conditions, the device was tested with protective elements added to the design, which made it possible to preserve fractures during destruction, and the laser pointers helped to construct the dependence of deviation of capture with sample versus time.
