The possibility of a macrostructural study to detect defects of various origins in metal products is shown. The main criteria for analyzing the macrostructure of parts with stress concentrators are formulated. The influence of each criterion on the properties of steel products is shown. Distinctive features of the macrostructure of metal products made from an ingot and a continuously cast billet are given. An example of the implementation of the results of a macrostructural study to increase the resistance of HFC parts surface-hardened from heating is considered. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
