Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide, but its mechanism remains unclear. Forkhead box protein O3a (FoxO3a) is an important transcription factor protein involved in a variety of cellular processes. Recent studies have shown that the transcriptional modification of FoxO3a regulates oxidative stress, autophagy, apoptosis, inflammatory reaction and energy metabolism of cells and is involved in the initiation and progression of stroke. Clarifying the signal transduction and action mechanism of FoxO3a in stroke can bring further enlightenment for the identification of targeted drugs. In this paper, we will review the research progress of FoxO3a in the effects and targeted intervention on ischemic stroke. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
