Simulation of sulphate attack on the cement composites with cement bypass dust.

Abstrakt: Many types of the waste are generated in industrial manufacture which are incorporated into concrete materials serving as secondary raw materials. One of these wastes is bypass dust from production of cement, which can be used as a cement supplement in cement composites. The cement composites with partial replacement of cement by the bypass dust were subjected to accelerated sulphate corrosion simulation in a special corrosion chamber during two-month period. The impact of diluted sulphate solution of pH 4 resulted in weight changes, increase in water absorption and changes in chemical composition of the composites. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
