Abstrakt: In order to achieve the design luminosity in the NICA collider, the rings are planned to be equipped with stochastic and electron cooling. The 2.5 MeV electron cooling system consists of two coolers that cool both ion beams simultaneously. This report deals with the design of the electron cooler and the results of testing of its magnetic elements at the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics, Siberian Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences (BINP SB RAS).
