Abstrakt: Noninvasive imaging systems afford less risk to find out disease and to examine the patients for giving to determine the amount of dosage and in assessing the treatment. The epicardial and pericardial fats presenting on the walls of the heart causes some life threatening diseases. Hence these fats must be segmented and quantified to determine the heart related diseases. As the manual segmentation of these fats is a difficult process, it requires well-experienced physicians and technical members. Therefore the cost becomes high. In this paper, we presented a novel automatic segmentation process based on DOOG filter and confined contrast histogram technique. This technique is used for contrast enhancement process and thresholding is applied for segmenting the epicardial fat region. The performance metrics are computed compared with the conventional methods. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
