Abstrakt: Rainfall data that aren't measured or recorded at rainfall gauge stations, is one of the obstacles in obtaining complete rainfall data information within a certain period. The lack of availability of complete daily rainfall data in Palembang is one of the most serious problems for the analysis of hydrology and climatology. GPM Satellite is one of the satellites from NASA that can provide large information on rainfall based on the location of observations. Measurable rainfall data from BMKG for Kenten and SMB II rainfall stations from December 2020 to February 2021 will be used to analyze the large correlation between measurable data and data from GPM Satellite in Palembang. The research method used is to group rainfall data based on classification, then calibrated with trial and error and validated to see the correlation between the data. Based on the classification of rainfall from BMKG, showing the amount of rainfall on GPM satellite that are close to rainfall the measurement results in the field are the amount of heavy rainfall that is less than 50 mm/day or at moderate rainfall intensity. Calibration results were obtained by trial and error methods for Kenten and SMB II rainfall stations. Validation of the calibration rainfall data showed a strong correlation for the amount of moderate rainfall that is less than 50 mm / day with a correlation coefficiency value of 0.874 for Kenten rainfall stations and 0.855 SMB II rainfall stations. Validation with the NSE method, the great validation value is 0.733 for Kenten and 0.726 for SMB II. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
