Construction materials science is constantly searching for new solutions to expand the range of construction materials by providing them with unique characteristics. This article presents the possibility of modifying cement compositions with bismuth titanate in a form of ultrafine admixture, which has photocatalytic and bactericidal properties, but which is generally used as a ferroelectric material in circuitry and instrumentation. The admixture was synthesized by common solid-state reaction process and then introduced into the cement matrix in the form of stabilized suspension instead of mixing water to achieve uniform distribution in the cement composite. Suspension stabilization was accomplished by using physical and chemical effects. The chemical effect is performed by plasticizer application. The physical one is in ultrasonic processing of a bismuth titanate and plasticizer suspension. During the experiment, cement samples were obtained with the addition of bismuth titanate. The compressive strength of samples obtained by using 5% suspension increased up to 21% at the age of 28 days and an increase in the degree of hydration by 12% was noted. The studies carried out at this stage of the experiment demonstrate the effectiveness of using the ultrafine bismuth titanate admixture to the cement compositions and the influence of bismuth titanate particles on photocatalytic activity and resistance to aggressive environment.
