Spectrophotometric method for evaluating the fixation strength of complexes based on β-cyclodextrins onto a cellulose material.

Abstrakt: The applicability of UV—Vis spectrophotometry for evaluating the efficiency of complexation of β-cyclodextrin (βCD) or hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HPβCD) with colorless and colored active substances and for controlling the fixation strength of the complexes on a cellulose-containing material was studied using the lysochrome diazo dye Sudan III (1-{[4-(phenyldiazenyl)phenyl]diazenyl}naphthalen-2-ol) as the model compound. Based on the results obtained, the fixation strength of the inclusion complexes with HPβCD is higher than that of the complexes with βCD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
