The study examines two interrelated questions: a) where did exactly located the Losta estate of the Abbey of Tihany, founded by King Andrew I in 1055, and b) where was the northern border of Somogy County during the Árpád era. Using a register of the abbey's estate from 1211, it concludes that the Losta estate was situated on the northern bank of the medieval Fok "river" (today's Sió canal), in the area of the present-day town of Siófok, and points out the fact, that the estate was situated on the northern bank of the Fok "river" in Somogy County that was not a special feature of the 13th century, rather quite common. At that time, the northern bank of the waters (roughly the width of a settlement) belonged to Somogy County, unlike in later centuries, and the creation of the territorial strip may date back to the beginning of the 11th century.
