Optimization of technological processes using mathematical methods is an integral part of the development of science and technology. This study reports on the application of the Harrington desirability function for multifactorial stability assessment of quasi-reference electrodes (QREs) in a solution with variable content of ferro-and ferricyanide ions ([Fe(CN)6]3–/4–). The experimental design modulates the process of potentiometric assessment of antioxidant activity (AOA) using the mediator system [Fe(CN)6]3–/4– and aims to determine four quantitative variables of potentiometric response. The experimentally determined parameters are exponentially converted into desirability values and then recalculated into an overall desirability estimate using the geometric mean. The results obtained suggest that the Harrington desirability function can be used to select the optimal QREs manufacturing conditions that meet their best stability. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
