The article presents a case study of hyponatremia and perforation of the bowel. A l4-month-old girl was admitted to Orange County Medical Center because of sudden respiratory arrest. Some six hours earlier she had fallen from a bicycle onto a grassy lawn and seemed well for several hours thereafter. Her past history was noncontributory. She had no history of chronic bowel symptoms. Although it is conceivable that the perforation in this case was produced by trauma, we feel that it was extremely unlikely for two reasons. |
