A Horrifying Murder Case in the Northern Mountain Areas of Guangdong.

Abstrakt: The article reports that since the beginning of 1974, the Party Committee of Lian County, Guangdong Province, received a series of letters requesting an investigation of a murder motivated by personal revenge. The County Party Committee overcame great difficulties and sent their efficient cadres to the scene of the crime, Mazhan Production Brigade, Shantang Commune. Mazhan Brigade is located in a remote mountain area near the border of Guangdong and Hunan. It had more than two hundred households, which shared a common surname, Cheng. Though it had no famous figures in its history, during the "ten-year catastrophe," the village produced two notorious leaders, whose reputation for brutality spread outside the village. One was named Cheng Longqi. One was named Cheng Longqi. He was an army veteran who was assigned work on a farm on Hainan Island in 1959. Another man named Cheng Zhuzai had served in the Nationalist army for several years before Liberation.
