Abstrakt: Investigates the acid-base balance of the newborn during and after exchange transfusion. Therapeutic importance of exchange transfusion in the treatment of severe neonatal jaundice; Occurrence of acidosis when the transfused blood contains ACD as anticoagulant. Technique in helping babies keep their acid-base balance in good state during and after exchange transfusion with ACD blood, provided that no other stress such as anoxia or illness is superimposed.
