Abstrakt: The article presents information on an examination of the present status of 124 cancer survivors. The group of 124 living patients includes 68 males and 56 females. The mean age at diagnosis of their cancers was 7.6 years. The distribution of ages at diagnosis is shown in Table 1. The mean duration of survival for this group thus far is 16.5 years. In addition to these 124 living patients, ten others lived more than ten years but ultimately succumbed to their cancers. Thus, the actual number of ten-year survivors is 134. Among these ten, eight died of their original cancers and two died of second primaries. The latter two were siblings who originally had retinoblastomas, and who both died of osteogenic sarcoma of the femur at age ten years. Of the eight who succumbed to their primary tumors, six had brain tumors and two had Hodgkin's disease.
