Abstrakt: Observations in a small population suggest that the Stycar system for vision testing is especially applicable to the evaluating of retarded and other handicapped children functioning at a young age level. Our experience suggests most children with mental ages above three years can be tested with this approach, despite their limitations of short attention span, distractibility, visual perceptual immaturity, and behavior problems. When adjustment is made for the children's mental ages, these difficulties seem minimized and success is probably equivalent to that of other studies of preschool children. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
