Review of the English literature revealed four reports of pelvic kidney and associated vascular surgery. Two cases of abdominal aortic aneurysm resection with tube grafting, one case of aortoiliac endarterectomy for aortoiliac stenosis, and one case of vena caval ligation comprise this group. We add an additional case of pelvic kidney in association with aortoiliac insufficiency requiring a Carrel patch implantation of the anomalous renal artery into the left limb of an aortobifemoral bypass graft. The incidence, anatomy, associated anomalies, and significance of this anomaly in vascular surgery are reviewed, and our case is presented. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
