Abstrakt: The article discusses a study which aimed to develop guidelines which could be useful to pediatricians and other professionals when suddenly confronted with a community disaster situation. Any disaster, be it tornado, flood, earthquake or hurricane, causes acute disruption in normal living patterns and is frequently accompanied by losses. These disruptions are often accompanied by temporary behavior upsets in children. Both the community leaders and the local pediatricians agree that information on children's behavioral reactions should he made available immediately via the news media in any future disaster.
