Abstrakt: Physical Activity and Health Promotion as a Scientific Discipline Research emanating from Sub-Saharan Africa, including Cameroon, remains disproportionately low, despite recent growth in global health research. In Cameroon, these obstacles include scarcity of trained health personnel, limited knowledge about the effects of PA as a mean of NCDs prevention, poverty, inadequate PA policies implementation, and an inappropriate environment to support PA interventions. Physical activity (PA) has shown substantial benefits versus inactivity, such as improvement in bone and muscle strength, weight and balance control, cognitive health, mental health and mood, ability to perform daily activities, sleep, well-being, life span, preventing falls, as well as considerable contribution in the protection from the risk of several types of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs).[1]-[3] As a drug-free and powerful intervention for health promotion and disease prevention,[4] PA would be an appropriate strategy priority for improving global health.
