Rapid urban expansion progressively envelops and transforms natural insect habitats, and the variety of threats to both terrestrial and aquatic tara area major contributor todeclines ofnativeinsects. Modifications to urban settlements and their surrounding areas to reduce habitat losses, invasive species impacts and pollution. and to proniote connectivity are key conservation needs, together with effective protection of remnant patches of native vegetation.
