The effective operation of road networks is critical for the correct development of everyday socioeconomic activity and the long-term viability of contemporary towns. This research gives a categorization and analysis of the data obtained in AL-Diwaniyah city using several procedures for estimating the LOS (level of service) of urban roads. The notion of level of service (LOS) was first proposed in the Manual on Highway Capacity, which was published in 2000. (HCM). The construction of these roadways to meet present traffic and future research to give the essential safety and efficiency during travels is a direct reflection of its residents and a gauge of the level of growth in the city of Diwaniyah. The primary goal of this research is to evaluate the level of service, safety, and comfort of selected urban roads in Al-Diwaniyah city according to the Highway Capacity Manual of the United States threshold (HCM 2000) and through performance measures including travel time, corresponding travel speed, and free-flow speed to evaluate each segment of the network and to suggest appropriate alternatives to improve them. Traffic volumes were measured at peak hours according to the road survey, taking into account the two hours in the morning (7:30-9:30) in the morning. And the evening peak (12:30 - 2:30) in the evening. For each road, using the video clips captured by the camera, to collect data and analyze road performance using HCM-2000 to know the level of service. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
