Abstrakt: Acoustic emission signals (AE) were used to determine the quality of welding parameters with the Global Best Modified Artificial Bee Colony (GBMABC) algorithm. The RSM-Box–Behnken design was used to experiment. The effect of tungsten inert gas welding process parameters on microstructure, hardness and tensile properties of 5086 Al alloy was studied. Moreover, the input parameters were optimized to achieve better mechanical properties. The online monitoring AE method exhibited energy, hits and counts showing significant variations in their rate concerning the failure region. The GBMABC algorithm is one of the more promising biologically inspired metaheuristic approach to finding the optimal solutions. The higher tensile strength of 296.32 MPa and the hardness of 84.69 Hv achieved at 191 A, 26 V and 3.33 Hz were computed through the GBMABC algorithm. The validation test was conducted at the optimal condition, showing that predicted and experimental responses were much closer. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
