The newer insecticide molecules and biopesticides were tested against fall armyworm under laboratory conditions in the Department of Agricultural Entomology, UAS, Dharwad during kharif 2019-20 and 2020-21. The treatments were imposed by the leaf dip method using maize leaves. The results of both years revealed that spinetoram 11.7 SC stood significantly superior over other treatments by recording cent percent larval mortality with 12 hours of treatment imposition followed by flubendiamide 480 SC (88.34%), spinosad 45 SC (86.84 %), emamectin benzoate 5 SG (86.67%) and novaluron 5.25% + emamectin benzoate 0.9 SC (85.00%). The larval mortality gradually increased in all the treatments and finally at 72 hours, cent percent larval mortality was also observed in emamectin benzoate 5 SG which was superior over other treatments except spinetoram 11.7 SC. Next to follow included novaluron 5.25% + emamectin benzoate 0.9 SC (96.9%) and spinosad 45 SC (96.50%). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
