In order to assess the reliability for 10.500 hours, observations were made of the operation of the Ponsse-ERGO harvester and its main components: hydraulic system, transmission, engine, process equipment, control system, running gear, joints. During this time, a number of failures and the average recovery time after a node failure were recorded, reliability parameters were calculated, a probability diagram of the states of the harvester system and a Pareto diagram were constructed. More than a third of failures occur in the hydraulic system, the main causes of which are: leakage, increased wear of moving parts, contamination of the hydraulic fluid, unsatisfactory work of service personnel, long-term operation of the harvester in difficult climatic conditions. The main reason for the failure of harvester units in case of elastic fracture is sudden overloads that occur when the maximum allowable loads are not observed and the operating rules are violated.
