A weak work system has an impact on productivity and excess costs because of the waste of work time. Based on preliminary observations known, three waiting activities have an effect on the difference in cycle time for each connecting rod operator. This study aims to calculate the needs of the ideal number of operators on the connecting rod by using the work-study method. Work system improvement by changing the work that was initially straight made to be crossed so that the distance between the machines is not too far and reduces waiting time. Changes in work layout can streamline the needs of operators from 6 operators to 5 operators. Reducing the number of operators has an impact time efficiency of 900 seconds and an increase in productivity from 13 pcs per hour to 16 pcs/hour for each operator. Work system settings by taking into account workloads and waiting times can increase operator work productivity by taking into account the workload of each operator. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
