Abstrakt: The conference paper (under review) states that 'prioritisation in symptom management should be based on patient perceptions of which symptoms are most negatively impacting their ability to live the life they want to live'. Alongside differential symptom reporting between genders, Veltkamp I et al i . found that age influenced symptom experience [[3]]. Furthermore, the impact of symptoms on function or quality of life can be more important to people with advanced kidney disease than simply the presence, frequency or severity of symptoms themselves. Critically, they also showed that every extra symptom or symptom burden point negatively affected physical and mental HRQoL, reiterating the clinical importance of optimizing symptom control [[3]].
