The article discusses highlights of the conference, titled Through the Lens of Henry Viollet: An Undisclosed Photographic and Paper Archive on Islamic Movements (1904-1913), held in Paris, France from June 23-24, 2022. Topics included Viollet's archival documentation about Samarra, his official missions to Mesopotamia and Persia, contribution of the Viollet archives to the study of mausoleums and woodwork decorations from the mediaeval Mazandaran, Iran and Friday Mosque in Isfahan, Iran. |
