Background: Local factors are paramount in normal wound healing. This is even more important when postoperative wounds, following surgical debridement, cannot be reconstructed and have an infection. Clinical case: This case describes a 53-year- old male patient that presented with a large scalp lesion, which was surgically debrided and managed with dressings to heal by secondary intention. Here we report the dressings used and the progress of the patient. Conclusion: Our findings highlight the importance of dressings and irrigation after surgical debridement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
