Abstrakt: The role of the media in learning during the pandemic is very important, especially for vocational students who need a more practical and effective approach. Research has been carried out involving 115 vocational high school students and they were divided into three classes with three kinds of media. Learning media based on learning videos, virtual laboratories, and a combination of the two have each been tested for their effectiveness on one chosen topic. The mixed methods research was used with embedded experimental model approach. Quantitative data was collected using tests and qualitative data was obtained by observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Quantitative data was analyzed by the N-gain test while qualitative data was explained by qualitative descriptive analysis conducted online showing that each form of media given to students had its own advantages. It appears that the media which is a combination of learning videos and virtual laboratories provides a better learning experience than that of the other two classes. Classes with media in the form of learning videos and virtual laboratories turned out to have almost equivalent achievements. However, all students showed a significant increase in problem-solving skills and independent learning. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
