The subjects were students in one of Junior High Schools in Semarang. The subjects were determined by purposive sampling based on the students' mathematical communication ability. Data collection techniques used tests and in-depth interview. Data analysis in the field was using the Miles and Huberman model. Data validity was using the triangulation technique. The description of the mathematical communication ability was that the subject with high category meets the drawing indicators and tend to meet the written text as well as mathematical expression indicators. The subject with medium category meets the drawing and the written text indicators and tends to meet the mathematical expression indicators. The subject with low category tends to meet the drawing indicators, do not meet the written text indicators, and tends to meet the mathematical expression indicators. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
