This research is descriptive research aimed to identify the scientific argumentation skill profile of X grade students. The sample was 57 students of X grade MAN 1 Gorontalo. The instrument used to gather data was a scientific argumentation skill test in the form of a three-tier multiple choice where each item comprise of 3 questions (Q1, Q2, and Q3). Q1 was made to measure students' ability to make claims that are following scientific concepts, Q2 was made to measure students' ability to choose appropriate evidence to support their claims in Q1 and Q3 were made to measure students' ability to make connections between the claims Q1 with the evidence they choose in Q2 (justification). The research result shows that the scientific argumentation skill of X grade students MAN 1 Gorontalo is in a fair category. Out of 57 students, 42% of students can give the right claim, evidence, and appropriate explanation of how evidence can support the claim (justification). 31% of students give wrong claims, 19% of students give correct claims but can not give evidence to support the claim, and only 8% of students give correct claim and evidence but can't give a proper explanation of how the evidence can support the claim (justification).
