Abstrakt: Nowadays, Music has become one of the most common medium of entertainment around the world which has thus intrigued scientists to study the effect of sound and music on the human brainwaves. After successfully identifying the effects of some aspects of music, its use for therapy has also been proven helpful. The purpose of this paper is to review the effects of music identified so far and various terminologies and methods involved in studying music and its effects on human brainwaves. With the use of non-invasive BCI EEG signals are obtained, pre-processed, followed by extraction and selection of relevant features which are then subjected to classification algorithms. Classification algorithms SVM, KNN, and Neural Networks were the top performers in distinguishing between two states (that is stress/normal state and music-induced state). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
