In this study, the effect of the strain path during asymmetric cold rolling on the crystallographic texture of Al-Cu-Mg alloy was investigated by x-ray diffraction. The main textures in asymmetrically rolled Al-Cu-Mg alloy were Goss {011}〈100〉, Goss-Brass {011}〈115〉, Rotated Goss {011}〈011〉, and Brass {011}〈211〉. The initial sample had a strong α-fiber and this texture remained unchanged after 20% unidirectional and reverse rolling. Interestingly, the cross rolling significantly weakened the α-fiber and also reduced the intensity of texture components. It was found that the cross rolling affected not only the deformation texture but also the recrystallization behavior via stimulation of continuous dynamic recrystallization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
