| Abstrakt: |
The article uses the cointegration model proposed by Engle and Granger (1987) for studies on multidimensional time series and the model testing procedure developed by Johansen in combination with problems in economics to develop a seafood export price index of Vietnam and test the integration of seafood export markets based on trade data provided by the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP). The research results can be extended to build price indexes and test market integration for many other commodity groups. Research results show that a challenge arises when implementing this method for Vietnam’s export goods is that the classification of Vietnam’s import and export goods is not detailed enough, so the unit price range may not accurately reflect the price level of each type of goods. In addition, our country’s ability to access import and export information is also limited compared to other major markets. The continuous improvement of the quality of the statistical system in recent years by statistical offices is expected to produce better data sets in the future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
