This research was aimed to devise a collaborative mathematical learning management model that effectively increases learning output. This research also describes the process of collaborative mathematics learning in junior high and the development of mathematical communication skills in collaborative mathematics learning. This research was qualitative ethnographic. The research was conducted on Colomadu First Middle School. Data were collected using observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the inductive method. The results showed that the collaborative mathematical learning process needs teachers as facilitators and guides in learning. Collaborative mathematics learning consists of introduction (conditioning, apperception, motivation, and analysis of learning objectives and processes), core activities (integrating scientific approaches, strategies, methods, and learning media according to teaching materials), and closing (reflection, conclusion, posttest, and follow-up). Collaborative learning develops students' mathematical communication skills and their religious, honest, responsible, disciplined, hardworking, independent, and simple, brave, caring, fair, creative, and innovative characters.
