Abstrakt: Aseptic loosening of the cementless knee prosthesis's tibial components is attributed to a lack of early rigidity in the prosthetic knee's fixation. When the prosthesis and bone interfaces are sufficiently stable after post-surgery, little relative motion between the prosthesis and bone interfaces permits osseointegation to occur, resulting in the presence of a significant biological connection between the prosthetic and the bone. To better understand the micromotion of the contact between bone and prosthetic as well as the probability of aseptic loosening being present, a finite element model was constructed. In this study we found the interface micromotion under different loading conditions. These values give suggestion to the patient how to behave after the tibial bone prosthesis under different gait cycle and loading conditions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
