Abstrakt: The article focuses on the concentration and quality of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in the McKenzie River, Oregon, U.S. It discusses its link to the formation of disinfection by-products (DBPs) in treated drinking water. The study examines the amount and types of carbon in the river; evaluates optical properties for predicting DBP precursors; and identifies potential sources of organic carbon and DBP precursors in the river's source water.
