The article focuses on the evolution of thought regarding the Embudo Fault and its regional context in Hondo Canyon, New Mexico. The topics discussed include the identification of fault strands and their relation to left-oblique deformation; the significance of faulted Servilleta Basalt, geologic formation that underlies most of the Taos Plateau of northern New Mexico; and the proposed development of the Embudo Fault in relation to the Jemez lineament, chain of late Cenozoic volcanic fields. |
